Acne And Oily Skin
Oily skin is extremely prone
to acne. Since the sebaceous glands are already overactive in
oily skin therefore it becomes difficult to protect the
skin.
Oily skin should be thoroughly
cleansed with oil control cleanser at least twice a day. Apart
from that, water should be splashed on face at least twice or
thrice a day. This helps in keeping the harmful bacteria away
from the skin. An oil control cream can also be used to keep
the oil level under control. This would keep a check a growth
of bacteria that tend to thrive on oily skin.
A gentle skin exfoliator to
keep the skin free of dead cells should be used on a regular
basis. This allows the skin to breathe freely and therefore
prevent break out. Moisturizer should be avoided but if
required then oil free moisturizers should be used.
Makeup should be completely
avoided. In case it's not possible to do so, only oil free and
non comedogenic products should be used. It should be noted
that the products used is water based as they do not clog the
pores. Makeup brushes should be washed at least once a month to
keep them free from bacteria. Also remove any traces of makeup
before going to bed.
People with oily skin
generally have oily hair. As hair tend to come in contact with
skin quite often, they should be washed regularly. If possible
they should be kept tied to avoid any contact between hair and
skin. Also pillow covers should be regularly washed. They tend
to collect all the dirt and grime of face and hair. Hence
constant contact with unwashed covers can lead to a grim
situation.
Exercising should be an
important part of daily routine. It helps in releasing toxins
from the body. But sweat should be properly cleaned as that may
also lead to building up of toxins on the skin.
Proper diet should be taken.
Yellow and orange colored fruits and vegetables help the skin
in getting rid of acne. So they should be included in your
regular diet. Water intake should also be proper. At least
eight to ten glasses of water should be taken everyday. It
helps the body to get rid of toxins from body.
People with oily skin should
avoid taking stress. When stress levels are high the sebaceous
glands tend to overwork. As the oil content is already high,
this over activity can lead to an even worse situation.
Meditation should be practiced to keep stress level under
control.
If the above stated tips are
followed religiously, a person with oily skin can prevent
outbreaks of acne easily.
